The material and technical resources of Ukrderzhlisproekt have been supplemented with a new off-road vehicle and equipment

This was made possible thanks to German support aimed at promoting sustainable forest management in Ukraine.

The list of equipment provided includes:

➡️A Renault Duster 4×4 off-road vehicle for field trips.

➡️Large-format Epson plotters and a scanner for working with maps.

➡️Specialised forestry tools: ultrasonic altimeters, laser altimeters, relascopes and radio stations.

Germany remains one of the key partners providing comprehensive assistance to the Ukrainian forestry sector since the very first days of the full-scale invasion.

The German Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity  (BMLEH), responded promptly to the State Forest Resources Agency’s request, supporting the revival of Ukrderzhlisproekt as part of the project ‘Strengthening forest management planning for better timber utilisation during the war in Ukraine through the revival of the Ukrainian State Forest Management Planning Association’ . The implementing agency for this project is the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO).

This assistance is critically important, as the association’s material and technical infrastructure suffered significant damage from hostilities at the start of the war.

General Director of the Association ‘Ukrderzhlisproekt’, Viktor Melnychenko, emphasised the strategic importance of this support:

‘This support allows us not only to restore what has been lost, but also to implement next-generation digital tools. The equipment received will strengthen our capacity to conduct a national forest inventory and prepare for compliance with the EUDR regulation. We are grateful to our international partners for their contribution to the sustainability and transparency of forest management in Ukraine,” said Viktor Melnychenko. We are working to improve the accuracy of our results and to develop innovations in the forestry sector.
