Working meeting on organizing forest inventories in 2022 was held under the head of Ihor Budzinski, Head of the Forestry Department of the State Forest Agency of Ukraine, in the presence of Viktor Melnychenko, General Director of Ukrderzhproekt.

The meeting was attended by Oleksandr Shevchuk, head of the National Forest Inventory Centre; Vitaliy Storozhuk, project coordinator of the project “Technical Support to Forest Policy Development and National Forest Inventory Implementation”; Ihor Buksha, head of the forest monitoring and certification laboratory URIFFM; Volodymyr Revutsky, head of the information and computing centre; Ihor Aleksiyuk, engineer-programmer of the 2. category СNFI.

Considering Russia’s military aggression, the meeting participants stressed the importance of conducting a national forest inventory to provide the country with reliable data on forest situation. At the meeting participants discussed the necessity of updating the national forest inventory procedure and other important issues.
